As a breeder, competitor and lawyer, Rebecca Pennington understands the wide range of issues that confront the participants in the equine industry. She is licensed to practice law in Texas and has has received formal training as a mediator by the American Arbitration Association. For many years, Ms. Pennington handled complex commercial litigation in the oil & gas, corporate and professional malpractice areas, while always maintaining a large docket of equine matters. In addition to her law practice of over 37 years, for 12 years Ms. Pennington taught law courses at the University of Houston Law Center and was Director of the Law Center’s Trial Advocacy Institute for three years. She was a moderator for the Houston Bar Association’s Moderated Settlement Conference program and also handles matters for the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Association.
